Minerva 1926 Mostard
The streets of the Dominican Republic inspire us to create very special footwear that has its own name. Our Minerva model refers to the Mirabal sisters, fighters who with passion and fervor defended freedom against the barbarism of man.
The Mirabal sisters, also known as Las Mariposas, were three Dominican sisters, Patria, Minerva and María Teresa Mirabal who opposed the dictatorship of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo with a fatal result for their lives, since the president ordered them assassinated. Only a fourth sister, Bélgica Adela Mirabal, remained alive at the time.
The day of the murder of the Mirabal sisters became a tribute to their struggle since in 1993, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 48/104 for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which defines this type of violence as "any act of violence based on belonging to the female sex that has or may result in physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering for women, as well as threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty , whether they occur in public life or in private life".

Insole lining: Natural cork recycled from bottle corks.
Insole: 100% recycled, removable with a 2 cm wedge.
Sole: Ecological rubber certified free of deforestation and socially responsible. For the manufacture of our soles we use only oils of vegetable origin.
Upper and sole union: 100% natural pine resin.
Laces: cotton.
